Alright y’all, I’m sad to say that National Masturbation Month is coming to an end because other than my birthday, it’s my favorite month of the year. If you’ve read my blog or follow me on social media, you know I spent all month long hitting you all with facts, tips, and reasons why masurbation should be a part of your routine and how it can help with your health, both mental and sexual. I even challenged my followers to masturbate every day - which I hope you did! I also hope that you’ve realized that masturbating is something that you should embrace and accept as a part of regular self-care.

Just because the month is coming to an end doesn’t mean that your masturbation should. That challenge didn’t have an expiration date. So to make sure that y’all continue to show yourself a little self love all year long I wanted to give you some resources to make sure it happens.

Below are some recommendations and suggestions of sex toys and resources  from some bomb sex educators.

1. Use Your Mouth Cards, Shamyra Howard (@sexologistshamyra)

Shamarya thinks that everyone should have the "Use Your Mouth," cards. They’re ultimately sex and relationship conversation starters that make it fun and easy to get to know your partner better.

Whether you are just dating or have been married for years, this card game will add some sizzling intimacy into your life.

2. Wireless Cock Ring, Goody Howard (@askgoody)

Now Miss Goody Howard is a fan of this wireless penis ring. It can be used as both a vibrating penis ring, but also a mini g-spot massager. It’s is a great tool that you and your partner can both use to spice up your sex life!

3. Becoming Orgasmic, Dr. Zelaika Hepworth Clarke (@dr.zel)

If you are shy or self-conscious,  when it comes to sex or want to learn how to enhance your pleasure, Dr. Zelaika suggests Becoming Orgasmic.  It’s a book that provides a program designed to help you overcome any obstacles that may be stopping you from experiencing complete sexual satisfaction.

4. Solo Sex, Afrosexlogy (@afrosexology_)

Afrosexology believes that the most important sexual relationship you will ever have is the one with yourself. Their digital Solo Sex workbook contains 50+ pages of information, worksheets, and practices to allow you to explore, affirm, and deepen your connection to your erotic self, erotic voice, and erotic power. So the next time you want to read a book, I suggest you pick up this one!

5. “It’s Your Masturbation Show”,VagEsteem (@vagesteem)

In this Vagesteem podcast episode Vanessa Geffrard (the founder) teamed up with  Dalychia and Rafaella of Afrosexology to talk about putting on a masturbation show! Everyone’s mind was blown, even the host said she was scared at first but felt brave about putting on her own show after talking with them!

6. Womanizer Duo, Shani Hart (@sexstuffwithshani)

This is Shani Hart’s absolutely favorite toy and she told me it is everything! The hashtag for this toy #screamyourownname!  The Duo can be used for penetration and clitoral suction, which is controlled by a remote pre-packed with twelve intensities of steady suction ranging from the softest tickle to a full-on throb plus another ten rhythms.

7. Tackling Talks About Body Pleasure, Melissa Carnagey (@sexpositive_families)

Melissa Carnagey, founder of Sex Positive Familes, hosted an interactive webinar to help parents and caregivers tackle talks about pleasure and body awareness with less taboo and greater confidence.

My Recommendations

Y’all know I can’t end this list without giving you a few of my suggestions!

Jack Rabbit

The Jack Rabbit is a dual vibrator that is basically shaped like a penis with bunny ears! It can be used for penetration and clitoral stimulation. If you check out that link you’ll see there are a lot of options when it comes to shape and even better, most of them have several vibrating options. It’s definitely not a toy you’ll get bored with.

Magic Wand

This machine right here, is where it all began and it is magical! It’s funny because it was created as a body massager and somehow there’s only one area people started using it to massage. If you’re new to sex toys, this is one I’d definitely reccommend you start with.

So, there you have it, 9 toys and resources that can help make masturbation a thing that happens after May! Sound off in the comments below - what are some of your favorite sex toys?
